Coupeville – a rasberry wheat beer that carrie brewed. it’s good – a bit light on priming sugar, so not as carbonated as it could be. but quite tasty.
Bedfordshire
Bedfordshire is our 2nd batch of beer brewed at home. we’re not entirely sure of the style or origin; it was a “mystery beer” kit purchased from homebrewheaven.
given the amount, variety & frequency of hopping, we assume it’s either an India Pale Ale, or another sort of pale. (hence, the “bedfordshire” name). it’s just about ready to drink, so that will help us out a bit, too.
Antwerp
Antwerp was our first brew – a belgian ale. (kit from homebrewheaven.com)
not a bad first attempt. nothing went wrong, less a few bottles we didn’t adequately rinse out the sanitizer and they tasted slightly of iodine.
not especially remarkable, but not bad either.
meet the new boss — again!
mikeyboy.com has once again changed content management systems.
what does this mean? it depends who’s asking! for anyone who reads this (my god, why do you bother reading this?) anyway.
for a normal visitor to the site, you’ll notice things look a bit different, and the organizational structure is new.
hopefully this means the site will be easier to navigate. it also means, that’s it’s much easier for me to create new content — so i have one less excuse as to why i don’t do that more often.
for any geeks in the audience, i’ve switched from the mambo server content management system to the drupal framework.
why? various reasons.
mouthwash in my eye
this is the story of how i ended up with mouthwash in my eye.
part of my morning routine, is to rinse with mouthwash (typically, in my mouth only). dispatching overnight breath before i go to work in the morning seems like a good thing.
on this particular morning, i must not have been paying attention… i ended up, as i was putting it in my mouth, with blue mouthwash beginning to flow down my chin. to avoid it ending up on my shirt, i threw my head and upper body forward, so it would drip into the sink instead.
as my head came forward, the bottle of mouthwash came down towards the sink basin. at a greater rate than usual, given that i was heaving forward in an attempt to keep the mouthwash off of my shirt (which, ironically, was a similar shade of blue to the mouthwash so it probably wouldn’t have been too noticeable).
nora
nora is our kitten, and she’s a handful. she was one of our fosters, who we adopted on January 4th, 2005.

kelly
kelly is our oldest kitty; we adopted him when we still lived in massachusetts.

teddy
teddy is a siamese mix, and he’s our biggest cat. we fostered his group, and it turns out we couldn’t stand to part with him. teddy is one of 2 cats we’ve kept from fostering (out of more than 150 so far…)

i’ve begun keeping track of the books that i’ve read (most since january of 2003, a few from 2002). this is perhaps the greatest unforseen gift of public transportation: time to read.
