it doesn't work from here
my hoe
i hurt everywhere
so, 29 total hours into the kitchen & miscellany this weekend (15 saturday, 14 sunday). got the wainscoting demo’ed, rehung the cabinets, demo’ed countertops, demo’ed sink, installed plywood/hardibacker. our kitchen/bathroom/tile/interior decorator got started on the tile on countertops and backsplashes – 1/2 the kitchen is tiled now.
oh, in brief interludes i also mowed the lawn, built a large pressure-treated planter, thatch raked and reseeded parts of the lawn. ugh.
41 Days – Update
so, a while back i announced our 50 Days plan for getting the house finished before our next vacation. we’ve made progress – i don’t have pictures right now but i will. just a bulleted list:
hairy legs & hopper
one more cute photo of hopper, contentedly sleeping on my hairy legs the day we got back to seattle.
50 days.
so, call us crazy….
you’re crazy!
thanks. carrie and i have a trip planned for august 7th. we thought – wouldn’t it be great to have the house projects DONE by then?
we’ve got 50 days, folks. starting …. NOW!
back in seattle again
we arrived back in seattle yesterday afternoon, after a just-under-1-week trip to manchester, nh and the boston area. “a good time was had by all” as the kids say (and i’ve probably said about every trip i’ve blogged about here, ever.) falcon was happy to see us, of course.
i guess, if a good time wasn’t had, why would we keep doing this? or why would i bother telling you about it?
bonfires, amplifiers, flyers
so, we took a step back this weekend for a bit. in addition to home improvement duties, we took in a concert at the white river amphitheatre. it was brad paisley’s bonfires & amplifiers tour. opening for brad were: taylor swift, jack ingram, and kellie pickler.
my new rig at work
so i managed to scrounge up a 2nd LCD at work, which allowed me to create the setup you see below. click through to flickr and i’ve added notes to the photo to explain what everything is.
now i guess i have no excuse for not being productive!
